Start a new case

Attorney tool — not legal advice. This application generates draft analysis and checklists for a licensed attorney to review, verify, and refine. It is not a substitute for legal judgment. Filing fees, form editions, processing times, and law change frequently — always verify against uscis.gov/g-1055, the current form pages at uscis.gov/forms, and current case law before filing. Fee data last reviewed July 2026 (includes 2024 Fee Rule and H.R.1 fees; some H.R.1 fees are subject to ongoing litigation).

New Client Intake

Select the case type, then complete the interview. Fields with * are needed for the analysis engine.

The three-stage intake flow Stage 1 — In office (this form): biographical data, immigration history, and case-specific screening. Save it even if incomplete. Family petitions: the main sections describe the BENEFICIARY — the relative who will immigrate — even when the petitioner is the one sitting in your office. The petitioner's own details (identity, 5-year history, Adam Walsh screening) are collected in the gold case-specific section. Stage 2 — Client completes at home (electronic first): send the client the online intake form — use "Send a Client the Intake Form" on the Dashboard (link or emailed file; English or Español). Their answers come back as a code you import in Saved Cases — no retyping. Paper fallback: Documents → "Client Take-Home Questionnaire" for clients without a phone or computer. Stage 3 — Follow-up interview: go to Documents → "Attorney Follow-Up Interview Guide" for the deep-dive questions to ask once the questionnaire is back. Update this intake with what you learn, then re-run Generate Case Strategy.

Fill Readiness

What will and will not fill on every mapped form for this case, and why. Run it BEFORE opening a PDF — it separates a wiring gap from a question the client simply has not answered, and turns the second kind into one targeted top-up ask instead of another round of emails.

Firm & Attorney Settings

Entered once. Every G-28 fills Parts 1, 2 and 4 from here, and the preparer block on other forms uses the same details. Stored locally on this computer with the rest of your case data.

Matters

Every client matter, the most recently worked on first. Open one to see its path, its questions and its tools.

Office folder, backups and tidying

Shared Office Folder (multi-user)

Connect a folder on your office network drive (or a synced OneDrive/Google Drive folder). Cases save there as files, so everyone in the office who opens this app and connects the same folder works from the same cases. Works in Chrome and Edge.

Not connected — cases stored in this browser only

No case strategy generated yet. Complete an intake and click “Generate Case Strategy”, or open a saved case.

Case Workspace

Everything for one case in one place: guided workflow, tasks & deadlines, prep sheets, documents, notes.

PDF Form Filler

Fill the OFFICIAL USCIS form from case data — free, in your browser, nothing uploaded anywhere. Step 1: download the current form PDF from uscis.gov/forms. Step 2: load it here with a case selected. Step 3: review every field, generate, and open in Adobe Reader to verify.

Requires internet the first time (loads the free pdf-lib library). Some older USCIS forms use XFA technology that browsers can't fill — if no fields appear, type the form in Adobe Reader using the Form Prep Sheet instead.

Assemble the filing packet

Drop in every decrypted form PDF and the client's exhibits at once. Forms are identified, filled from the case and placed in filing order; anything that is not a form we recognise becomes an exhibit, gets a tab page and an index line. Out comes one merged PDF to print, and a separate signature set to send the client.

The packet is flattened on purpose. Every USCIS form names its fields the same way, so merging two filled forms while they are still fillable collides the field names and the surviving values are not predictable. Flattening first turns the answers into page content that copies exactly and cannot be edited back into the wrong box. The individual fillable PDFs are still produced one form at a time above.

Assembly order is the common lockbox convention, not a USCIS rule: G-1145, cover letter, contents, G-28, the principal form, supporting forms, fee sheet, index, then exhibits behind tabs. A response to a Request for Evidence puts the request on top. Every page Scrivett makes, and every exhibit page, carries a page number; the USCIS forms are left unmarked.

File Retention

What is held, how long, and on what authority. Almost all of it is this firm's policy rather than a rule, and the screen says which is which every time — a number you chose should never look like a number you must obey. Nothing here destroys itself.

Legal Calculators

Date math that must never be done in your head. Results are estimates — verify the underlying rules before relying on them.

Document Generator

Draft letters and case documents auto-filled from a saved case. Edit in the box, then copy or download as a Word-compatible file.

Form Library — Plain-English Guides

What each form does, who files it, current fees, and the mistakes that get cases denied or rejected. Verify the current edition date on uscis.gov before filing — USCIS rejects outdated editions.

⚖ Law Updates — Firm Control Panel

When the law changes, enter it here ONCE. The entire app — case strategies, red flags, deadline math, calculators, fee tables, cover letters — immediately starts operating on the updated law. With a shared folder connected, the update reaches every computer in the office automatically.

Status

1 · Practice Alerts — new law, litigation, policy changes

An alert is injected into every Case Strategy generated for the case types it applies to — the engine treats it like built-in law and displays it as a flag.

2 · Rule Parameters — deadline & eligibility math

Change a number and every calculator, auto-computed deadline, and red-flag test in the app uses the new value. Leave blank to keep the built-in default.

RuleBuilt-in defaultFirm override

3 · Filing Fees & Form Notes

Updated fees replace the built-in ones everywhere (Form Library, strategy memos, cover letters). Notes appear on the form's library card and in memos.
